Istanbul - Luis Aragones has signed a pre-contract and is to finalize a coaching deal at Fenerbahce after Euro 2008 in a departure from the Spain national team job, the Turkish club said on its website on Wednesday.
Fenerbahce said that the 69-year-old has signed the pre-contract over two years. The deal is to completed once Spain's fate at the Euro tournament is known.
Spain are in the semi-finals against Russia on Thursday in Vienna. Aragones said ahead of the tournament he will quit as Spain coach even if the team lifts the trophy in Sunday's final.
At Fenerbahce, Aragones is to take the place of Brazil's Zico, who is by now linked with the Portugal national team job after Luis Felipe Scolari moved on after Euro to English club Chelsea. (dpa)
