London, Dec 24 : Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out the prospect of midfielder David Beckham rejoining the club on a short-term loan during the midwinter transfer window next month.
Beckham, who left United for Real Madrid in 2003, admitted earlier this week that he would “only come back for Manchester United” should he be able to secure a loan from Los Angeles Galaxy during the MLS closed season.
However, Ferguson insisted that he had no plans to offer the 35 year-old a career swansong at Old Trafford.
“I don’t think so, with David at his age. I’ve never signed a player as old as that have I? Henrik Larsson [also 35] only came for a month,” the Telegraph quoted Ferguson, as saying.
The 35-year-old has spent the last two winters on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy at AC Milan. (ANI)
