Tenero, Switzerland - Torsten Frings ran away with the ball from the 2006 World Cup opener but two years on it appears to have lost its value for him.
"I can't really remember where it is. All I know is that it has no air. I will look for it when I get back home. The dog probably broke it," said the Werder Bremen midfielder Frings on Saturday at Germany's Euro 2008 camp.
Frings scored a spectacular goal as Germany defeated Costa Rica 4-2 in the June 9, 2006, World Cup opening match in Munich. He then slipped away with the match ball.
His next chance to get a major event ball comes on Sunday when Germany meet Poland at the Euro event in Austria and Switzerland. (dpa)
