Germany edge the Netherlands to reach men's hockey final

Beijing - Germany beat the Netherlands 4-3 in a penalty shootout on Thursday to reach the final of the men's hockey tournament at the Beijing Olympics.
Both teams were level 1-1 at the end of extra time.
Timme Hoyng opened the scoring for Holland in the 65th minute, but Philipp Zeller equalized for Germany three minutes later to send the game into extra time.
The victory was sweet revenge for Germany, who lost to the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
Germany's opponent in the final will be decided in Thursday's second semi-final encounter between Spain and Austria. (dpa)
