Oberhaching, Germany - Germany won't underestimate minnows Liechtenstein Saturday or Finland four days later, coach Joachim Loew said Thursday ahead of the start of his side's World Cup qualifying campaign.
"We don't have to talk Liechtenstein up. We want to win and we will win," Loew said at the team's training camp at Oberhaching near Munich.
However Loew warned against expectations of a goal rush similar to the 13-0 victory over San Marino in a Euro 2008 qualifier two years ago when Germany play Liechtenstein in Vaduz on Saturday.
"I would not put Liechtenstein in the category of San Marino, Andorra or Luxembourg," Loew said.
However Germany have scored 17 goals in their only two previous meetings against the principality, winning 9-1 in 1996 and 8-2 in 2000.
Loew said qualifying for the 2010 World Cup would not be easy in a group including Russia, while Finland on their own ground could cause trouble.
Loew will be without captain Michael Ballack (foot injury) and midfielder Torsten Frings (broken nose), while striker Kevin Kuranyi missed training Thursday with a back problem.
Bastian Schweinsteiger may be given a role in central midfield against Liechtenstein, while striker Lukas Podolski - on the subs' bench at Bayern Munich - could also start up front or in midfield. (dpa)
