Munich - Berkant Goktan has been sacked with immediate notice by his club 1860 Munich after testing positive for cocaine, the German club confirmed Tuesday.
The second division club said it had offered to help Goktan overcome his problems as well as giving the 27-year-old striker the opportunity of letting his contract lapse, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement.
Goktan, who joined 1860 Munich in August 2006 on a five-year deal, previously had spells with Kaiserslautern, Besiktas, Galatasaray and Bayern Munich. (dpa)
