Athens - Greek coach Otto Rehhagel on Monday extended his contract by two years till 2010, the Greek football federation (EPO) announced.
Both parties already said in March that the German coach would extend his contract.
Greek media reports said that Rehhagel would be earning one million euros (1.54 million dollars) and that EPO would be paying his taxes.
Rehhagel's contract was due to expire at the end of the European Championships, where the defending champions have been paired into a group with Sweden, Spain and Russia.
After the Euro competition, Greece will be competing in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. They will face Switzerland, Moldova, Israel, Latvia and Luxembourg en route to South Africa. (dpa)
