Berlin, Jan. 29 - German football club Hannover have signed up 24-year-old Senegalese and Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf until June 2014, the club has said.
Diouf will receive jersey number 18 and will join the squad training Monday. The Senegalese international played for Manchester United since 2009 where he starred in five matches and scored one goal.
"I am glad that in Mame Diouf we have an additional striker. We want to integrate him as quickly as possible so that he can help us with the upcoming tasks," Xinhua quoted the team as saying.
Since 2009, striker Diouf has been part of the national team. He played 12 matches and scored three goals.
Hannover are currently in seventh position in the Bundesliga standings with the chance to play in European competitions. They also have a berth at the intermediate round of the UEFA Europa League with the next match against Belgian club Bruges. (IANS)
