Jakarta, Feb 13 - Indonesia will host an indoor football competition May 27, called the EPL Masters Indonesia Cup, featuring star players from the English Premier League (EPL).
Organiser Dino Hamidi said that household names from Manchester United, Liverpool and other EPL stars such as Nicky Butt, Andy Cole and Pierre van Hooijdonk had confirmed their attendance at the event.
"The EPL Masters Cup has been hosted in Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei. It is time for Indonesia to hold the event. The Cup is a joint Master Football Asia and Football Focus Asia event," Dino was quoted as saying by the Jakarta Post Monday.
The organisers said that the Cup would adopt a half-competition system, allowing Manchester United Masters, Liverpool Masters, EPL ALL Star Masters and Indonesian Masters teams to face each other in order to collect points.
The top two teams will meet in the final round. (IANS)
