IOC President Jacques Rogge to run for second term

Hamburg - International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge intends running for a second term as the head of the Olympic Movement, informed sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa Friday.
The Belgian made the announcement that he intends standing for a second four-year term in a letter to IOC members. His re-election to the post of president at next year's main IOC session in Copenhagen in October is expected to be a formality as it is unlikely that he will face an opponent.
Rogge, 66, took over the helm of the IOC in 2001 from Spaniard Juan Antonio Samaranch. (dpa)
