Melbourne, Feb 10: Australian left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has revealed that being "bombarded" by an information had affected his mental approach to bowling and subsequently led to his axing from the Test squad.
"As soon as I get too much information, I don''t think it helps me. It''s hard when you have a lot of people coming in and telling you what you should and shouldn''t be doing," news. com. au quoted Johnson, as saying.
"That''s what happens at the elite level, you can get bombarded with people''s thoughts and ideas. It''s how you deal with it and I didn''t deal with it, I started changing things for no reason. I''m not blaming anyone, it''s my fault. I need to improve the mental side of things and do what I know works for me," he added.
His statement comes ahead of his appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the first time.
Johnson, 30, is also on the wish-list of county cricket side Glamorgan for spearheading their domestic Twenty20 campaign in June.
But Johnson''s availability will be determined by whether he is picked in the Australian one-day side for the England series.
He has not given up hope of making a comeback in international cricket.
"I need to get back in the Australian team but I know I have a lot of work to do," Johnson said. (ANI)
