Islamabad, Aug 11 : Pakistani batsman Khurram Manzoor, who has found himself out of favor with the national selectors these days, has vowed to make a strong comeback.
“Being dropped from the team is part and parcel of cricket. It’s how you come back and how you take the omission that is most important,” said Khurram.
“I am looking to use the omission as a motivational tool to work on my mistakes. I’m not feeling down at all, I aim to get back into the Test team and also to find my way into the One Day team as well,” he said.
Khurram said that he has been working extremely hard on his fitness and fielding.
“I’ve not taken any time off during the close season, and have been working with Shoaib Mohammad, Moin Khan, Jalaluddin and Rashid Latif and am constantly looking to improve myself,” pakpassion. net quoted him, as saying.
“I’ve also been playing some zonal matches in Karachi and have hit five centuries in seven matches, and two of those centuries were scores of more than 150,” said Khurram.
The 24 year old is looking once again to show the tremendous form that had previously brought him to the attention of the selectors.
“In last season’s two domestic competitions, I was the second top scorer, and in six first class matches prior to the tour of New Zealand and Australia I scored 632 runs. Also, in the last two Tests I have played in, I have scored two half centuries, and almost got a 100 in one of the Test matches in Sri Lanka,” he said. (ANI)
