New Delhi, Feb 11 : India's middle-order batsman V. V. S. Laxman has recovered from the finger injury and will be available for the second Test against South Africa in Kolkata from Sunday.
"Laxman is fit and will definitely be playing," chairman of selectors Krish Srikkanth said.
India suffered an innings defeat in Nagpur and now need to win the second Test match to level the series and retain their top spot in the International Cricket Council's Test rankings.
The 35-year-old Laxman missed the first Test in Nagpur after he failed to recover in time from the finger injury that he sustained during last month's tour of Bangladesh.
In Nagpur, Rohit Sharma was drafted as a replacement for Laxman but the youngster also got injured just before the toss and India were forced to play rookie wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha as a specialist batsman.(IANS)
