Liverpool land Riera, sell Finnan

London - Liverpool completed the signing of winger Albert Riera Monday, with Steve Finnan leaving the club.
Riera joins from Espanyol for an undisclosed fee.
The 26 year old has agreed to a four-year contract, and should help alleviate the lack of width that has dogged their midfield in recent months.
"Riera has the qualities we were looking for," said manager Rafa Benitez.
"He's a left-footer who normally plays on the left wing, he's good in the air, strong, powerful and a good crosser of the ball."
Riera spent two years at Espanyol after a disappointing spell at Manchester City.
Meanwhile, full-back Finnan, 32, has headed in the other direction, signing a two-year contract with the Barcelona-based club. (dpa)
