London, July 7 : Tottenham Hotspur has told midfielder Luka Modric that he will not be allowed to leave this summer for Chelsea or any other club.
According to The Guardian, Modric was informed by chairman Daniel Levy that a move was out of the question no matter how much money is offered for him.
Modric had last month said that he wanted to depart Tottenham in search of more trophies and named Chelsea as his preferred destination.
Asked if Modric had told him that he wanted to stay, Levy said: “I’m just telling you what the position is – that he won’t be sold.”
“We had a very good conversation, and, as I’ve said previously, Luka Modric will not be sold,” he added.
Chelsea had a 22 million pounds bid rejected last month and Roman Abramovich is expected to return with a higher offer of over 30 million pounds. (ANI)
