London, Sept 17 : Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has reportedly signed a long term deal, worth five million pounds with the sportswear brand Puma.
After signing one of the most lucrative three-year-sponsorship deals in English football, Aguero will now wear Puma apparel for all promotional shoots.
According to the Daily Mail, Aguero will pick up a basic deal of 1.25 million pounds a year just for being their `worldwide icon'.
He will pick up substantial bonuses for topping the goalscoring charts in the Premier League, the Champions League and for scoring for Argentina, the paper said.
Despite the deal, which is worth more than Wayne Rooney's reported one-million-pound-a year deal with Nike, Aguero is still short of the game''s top earners.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who endorse Adidas and Nike respectively, receive two million pounds a year each from their clothing contracts. (ANI)
