Murray believes he can topple Federer with minor improvements in his game

Murray believes he can topple Federer with minor improvements in his gameLondon, Feb. 2 : Andy Murray, whose Grand Slam dreams were dashed by Roger Federer in the Australian Open final, believes that he only needs minor improvements in his game to finally defeat the world No 1.

“On the hard courts he plays great but there are guys who can beat him if they play their best. From a personal point of view, there''s obviously stuff I need to work on but I lost to the best player of all-time on Sunday,” The Sun quoted Murray, as saying.

“I''ll keep working on my serve and physically I can still get better. But I only dropped one set going into the final and beat some really tough players on the way,” he added.

While licking his wounds, the 22-year-old British star insists that the 16 times Grand Slam winner will be around for another five years.

“Roger has never had surgery, he has kept himself in good shape and if his body holds there''s no reason he can play for another four or five years. Roger is still going to be favourite at Wimbledon for the next few years,” he said.

Murray, whose next tournament is likely to be in Marseille in a few weeks, was pleased with his preparations.

“I''ve enjoyed my time over here - you get to an age when you start to enjoy it more. I''m more relaxed than I was 18 months or two years ago, for sure,” he added.

Meanwhile, Federer, relaxing in Melbourne, admitted his victory was something special.

“Wimbledon, the Olympics - they''re so far off. Winning 20 slams was never a goal I set myself. I''ll just try to defend the French and Wimbledon the way players are supposed to,” he said. (ANI)
