Jan 27 : Former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal has reckoned that he is
confident for the Australian Open final after having defeated `the
greatest (player) in history', Roger Federer in the semi-final clash.
Nadal edged past Federer 6-7 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (5), 6-4 to storm into his 15th Grand Slam final.
"I did much better than what I thought, what I dreamed for three weeks
ago. I''m very happy for everything. It''s a fantastic victory for me
against the greatest (player) in history. That give me a lot of
confidence ... a lot of calm," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Nadal,
as saying.
He said entering the finals was a dream come true for him as he was in agony before his first -round match.
"Twenty four hours before I played my first match, I was in my hotel
room crying because I believe I didn''t have the chance to play in
Melbourne. Two weeks later, I am here in the final. So it''s a dream for
me," he said.
He attributed his success to the strategy devised by him and his coach Tony. (ANI)
