Nadal rates Djokovic, Federer, Murray as O2 favourites

Nadal rates Djokovic, Federer, Murray as O2 favouritesLondon, Nov 19: Spanish tennis player and World No 2 Rafael Nadal has reckoned that Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have better chances of winning the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals title at O2 Arena in London.

The tournament, which is scheduled to begin on November 20, has eighth ranked player as lowest opponent.

"Roger has been winning, Andy had a very good run in Asia and lost a tough match to Berdych last week in Paris while Novak must still have unbelievable confidence after the season he has had," the Daily Mail quoted Nadal, as saying.

Though Nadal's statement cannot be doubted, as evident from last three Grand Slams, it has now become his tendency to adopt a downbeat tone before and in the early stages of a tournament and then cruise into the finals.

The chances of Murray displacing Nadal from the world No 2 spot are slim, requiring the latter to lose every match and the former to win the title unbeaten.

Murray is so accustomed to handling the scenario at Wimbledon that he is not bogged down by pressure on him.

"Sometimes away from the courts there's a bit more attention and there's sometimes extra pressure but I think home advantage is huge in any sport," Murray said.

"I'd like to finish the year on a high note, but for next year I think the off-season is more relevant. Novak didn't play particularly well here last year and then he went on to have the great season he's had," he added.(ANI)
