New Delhi, Nov 3 - India's ace rifle shooter Gagan Narang hoped that 2012 London Olympics would be lucky for him after missing out on a podium finish in Beijing and Athens.
Narang, a multiple Commonwealth Games gold medallist, will be participating in 50m Rifle Prone and 50m Rifle 3 Position besides his pet 10m Air Rifle event in London.
"Participating in three events gives me more chances to win medals. I hope it would be third time lucky for me. My main event is 10m Air Rifle where only a little fine-tuning is required, but I need to work on 3 position," Gagan said on the sidelines of the signing of an MOU between the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and electronics giant Samsung.
Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra said it is now time for all the athletes, who have qualified for London, to focus only on the Games.
"Just before the Olympics, you have to detach yourself from all the noise. You need to be focused on the job at hand," he said.
Ace archer Deepika Kumari, who has also booked an Olympic berth, said: "Focus is very important. You need to keep your mind away from other things and stay concentrated. We do a lot of mental training to stay focused." (IANS)
