Cape Town, Nov 10 : South African fast bowler Dale Steyn reckons that his teammate Mark Boucher’s record of becoming the first player in Test history to take 500 catches will never be matched.
Boucher achieved the feat during the first Test against Australia in Cape Town on Wednesday.
His 500th dismissal was that of Australian opening batsman Phillip Hughes who was caught behind off fast bowler Vernon Philander.
“That is serious, I don’t think anyone will catch up to him really. What a player. If anybody ever wrote him off, he’s coming out again and showing what he’s worth on the field and how valuable he is,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Steyn, as saying.
“There might be other talented players out there, but there will never be another Mark Boucher,” he added. (ANI)
