NRAI asks Olympic champion Bindra to attend National Games

Abhinav-BindraRanchi, Feb 17 :  The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) Thursday issued an ultimatum to Olympic champion shooter Abhinav Bindra to be present at Ranchi to participate in the 34th National Games.

NRAI secretary Baljeet Singh Sethi said the federation has asked Bindra, who is currently training in Germany, to attend the Games which will be a qualifying tournament for the national team for the World Cup and other international qualifying tournaments for the 2012 London Olympics.

"Bindra had been given time till Friday to show up or else face possible disqualification," Sethi told IANS.

Bindra created history by becoming the first Indian to win an individual Olympic gold at the 2008 Games in Beijing.(IANS)
