Shanghai, Oct 15 : India's Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi went down 1-6, 4-6 in the Shanghai Rolex Masters tennis men's doubles semi-finals to Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Daniel Nestor of Canada here Saturday.
Paes and Bhupathi, however, have qualified for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals after their quarterfinal victory over Thomaz Bellucci and Ivan Dodig.
It took second-seeded Mirnyi and Nestor close to an hour to get the better of the fourth-seeded "Indian Express".
Bhupathi and Paes will join Bob Bryan-Mike Bryan, Michael Llodra- Nenad Zimonjic, Mirnyi-Nestor, and Jurgen Melzer-Philipp Petzschner at the season's finale to be held at The O2 in London from Nov 20-27. Three spots remain to be claimed.
It will be the Indian pair's sixth team appearance at the year-end championships and their first since 2002 after reforming their full-time partnership this season.
They reached the final on their debut in 1997 and again in 1999.(IANS)
