Pak capable of being ranked among top two ODI teams in coming months: Waqar

Sharjah, Nov 21 : Former Pakistan coach Waqar Younis has praised the national team’s impressive performance in the United Arab Emirates amid a plethora of controversies.
Pakistan had won the three-Test series against Sri Lanka 1-0 and secured the five-match ODI series with a win in Sunday’s fourth ODI to take a 3-1 lead.
“The present team has done very well amid all the controversies. It has the potential to be ranked among the top two teams in the coming months,” Waqar told the Express Tribune.
“Our cricket has suffered a lot due to all the controversies, but I am very happy with the way Pakistan have performed on the field during the tough time,” he added.
He further said that captain Misbah-ul-Haq deserves the credit for the recent success.
“I must give a big share of the credit to Misbah, who has marshalled the team well in both ODIs and Tests. All the other players have also supported him well, contributing to the team’s progress,” he said. (ANI)
