Pak pacer Asif ruled out of first two ODIs against Bangladesh

Lahore, Mar. 30: Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad AsifPakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif has been ruled out of the first two one-day internationals against Bangladesh next month on medical grounds.

His compatriots -- Umar Gul and Rao Iftikhar -- have been cleared to play, reports the Dawn.

Chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed told reporters here that the final squad for the upcoming series would be announced today after the approval of PCB chief Dr Nasim Ashraf.

The Bangladesh squad will arrive in Pakistan on April 6 for the ODI series and a Twenty20 that starts from April 8.

The likely squad is as follows: Shoaib Malik (captain), Salman Butt, Nasir Jamshed, Yasir Hameed, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Bazid Khan, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar, Yasir Arafat, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Fawad Alam. (ANI)
