Lahore, August 30: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has constituted a three-member committee to hunt for a new head coach to succeed Waqar Younis.
Waqar had submitted his resignation to the PCB prior to the team's departure for Zimbabwe, citing health reasons for quitting the post, and said that he would step down after the team's tour to the African country.
"Following the resignation of Waqar Younis as Coach of Pakistan team, the PCB has constituted a committee to look for a new coach, " the board said in a statement.
The committee comprises of former team manager and coach, Intikhab Alam, as the chairman of the panel, and former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas and former wicket-keeper batsman Naushad Ali as the other two members.
Former captain Ramiz Raja has "consented to assist the committee in selection of the coach," the PCB statement said.
The PCB also confirmed that the committee will start working after the Eid Holidays, and "will look for coaches both from within and outside Pakistan." (ANI)
