Karachi, Feb. 4 : The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt, it seems, is hardly concerned over the hue and cry being raised over the team’s horrendous show Down Under, as he was spotted taking a nice little nap during the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Sports meeting.
Butt reportedly had a catnap during the meeting, which was called to discuss Pakistan’s white wash in both the Test and one-day series against Australia, apart from other issues.
“Butt slept during the meeting even when he was being addressed by Jamshaid Dasti, the committee chairman,” The News quoted Sindh Sports Minister Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, as saying.
During the meeting, Dasti asked the PCB chairman to resign from the post following the team’s pitiable performance in Australia.
“The affairs of the board show that you have lost grip over the things, therefore you should step down as PCB chief,” Dasti told Butt during the committee’s meeting here.
The committee also decided to ask the State Bank of Pakistan to freeze all accounts of the PCB, citing serious misappropriation of funds in the board, The Daily Times reports.
The committee also took up the issue of exclusion of Pakistani cricketers from the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) third edition and sought details from Sports Ministry and the PCB. (ANI)
