Lahore, Jan 5 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said it has shortlisted six candidates for national coach posts.
The PCB coach-hunt committee chairperson Intikhab Alam said that names of six shortlisted candidates have been recommended to chief Zaka Ashraf to seek his views, before calling the contenders for interviews.
"We held a meeting for the purpose of finding Pakistan's new coach and we've finalised six candidates after going through the applications for various coaching positions of the national squad," The Express Tribune quoted Alam, as saying.
"There will be separate coaches for the bowling, batting and fielding departments, along with a head coach and whoever is appointed will be given a two-year contract," he added.
His statement comes amid suggestions that former Sri Lanka and Bangladesh coach Dav Whatmore is a front-runner for the post.
The PCB has appointed Mohsin Khan as the interim coach after former head coach Waqar Younis stepped down due to health reasons. (ANI)
