PCB to videotape domestic matches to deal with players’ indiscipline

PCB to videotape domestic matches to deal with players’ indisciplineLahore, Jan 31: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to introduce a system of video recording its domestic matches to deal with the growing problem of players' indiscipline and sub-standard umpiring.

PCB's domestic cricket division head Sultan Rana said that the board plans to install two video cameras at every stadium where first-class and national one-day cup matches are played from next season.

"We have formed a three member committee headed by Pakistan team manager and former captain, Intikhab Alam to already study the available footage of some domestic matches that were filmed with one camera this season," the Daily Times quoted Rana, as saying.

"But from next season to make the system more effective we plan to have two cameras at each venue," he added.

He also confirmed that the PCB has received complaints from domestic teams and officials.

"We have got a lot of reports from the umpires and team captains blaming each other with match referees also pointing towards indiscipline by players and unsatisfactory umpiring this season in domestic matches," Rana said. (ANI)
