PCB wants apology over match-fixing report

PCB-LOGOKarachi, March 1 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking an apology from a foreign broadcasting service over its report that two Pakistan cricket team players are involved in match-fixing.

A well-placed source in the PCB told IANS Monday that senior board officials are unhappy with match-fixing accusations against two national team players and have decided to sue Voice of America if it did not apologize for the report.

The report had alleged that Kamran Akmal and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan are involved in match-fixing and the International Cricket Council (ICC) has provided proof against them to the PCB.

However, both the ICC and PCB have denied having knowledge of such proofs.

"The PCB is seeking an apology over the report which it believes was filed without any basis," said the source.(IANS)
