Melbourne, Dec 9 : England batsman Kevin Pietersen has been fined 239 dollars after being busted speeding in a 475,000 dollar Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, organised by former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, in Melbourne.
Pietersen was nabbed by a police officer using a laser speed detector.
According to the Herald Sun, the 30-year-old was allegedly travelling at 121km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Geelong Ring Road.
It comes despite his earlier promise that he would make sure that he did not breach any of Victoria's strict road laws.
Warne, an ambassador for Lamborghini, had arranged the bright new yellow car for Pietersen.
Meanwhile, Victoria's Transport Accident Commission (TAC) was quick to use the star batsman's situation to impart the safe driving message.
"Pieterson out! Bowled out by the Christmas enforcement campaign. No-one will escape this season...3000 police on the road... Don't risk it!" a TAC post on Twitter said. (ANI)
