Sydney, Mar 8: Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait has said that the key to performing well without better preparation during the World Cup was due to captain Ricky Ponting's commitment to use him in only two or three-over spells.
Tait recovered from shoulder surgery only in late December, and then further injuries prevented him returning until the last two matches of the one-day series against England.
"I think it's perfect. I've been doing this for a while. The times I've played one-day cricket for Australia, this is the way I've been used. It's been brilliant, I think," he said.
"Everything has been pretty good, I've stayed pretty fresh. There's been decent gaps between games, which has been good for the fast bowlers [in particular] but good for any player really," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Tait, as saying.
Tait said his motivation was high, as he doubted he would be still playing when Australia hosted the 2015 World Cup, despite being only 32. (ANI)
