London, Jan 12 : An alleged plot to blackmail a Premier League footballer over his having an orgy with three Swedish blondes is being investigated by the police.
The footballer, who is in his 20s and plays for a team in the league’s top ten, is said to have romped with the girls and two male pals in a Las Vegas hotel.
The orgy was apparently filmed on a BlackBerry, and the video is now believed to be at the centre of an attempt to blackmail the footballer, who is an international player.
Senior detectives investigating the plot say that along with the video there are compromising photos of the player, who enjoys a clean-cut image.
The footballer had met the Swedish girls at a Las Vegas club while holidaying with two male pals. Of the three girls, one was a 25-year-old waitress.
The group ended up at the player’s hotel room, where he had sex with the waitress while her two friends romped with his pals. Pictures taken of the orgy are understood to include the star wearing just a condom.
The footballer has now received an e-mail from a mystery man or woman, who is threatening to circulate the film and photos.
“We are trying to trace the person behind the email address, though he or she has tried to hide their identity,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.
“We’re keeping an open mind on whether the person making the demands was one of the girls or a third party unconnected with what went on in the hotel,” the source added. (ANI)
