Ramiz Raja feels Pak players have not lived up to expectations

Karachi, May 26 : Ramiz Raja feels Pak players have not lived up to expectationsFormer Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has regretted that Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) have not lived up to expectations.

Ramiz, who is working as a commentator and expert in the IPL, said the inconsistent performances of the Pakistani players were an indication where they stood in the company of international players.

“The biggest disappointment for me has been the fact that our players have not been able to perform consistently. We have had good performances here and there but not enough,” The News quoted Ramiz as saying.

“A dozen Pakistani players have been signed up by different teams in the IPL but so far only left-arm pacer, Sohail Tanvir has stood out with some good bowling performances for the Rajasthan Royals team,” he added.

He said opener Salman Butt haD also produced a few good innings for the Kolkata Knight Riders team, but has not been consistent enough.

“Notable performers like Mohammad Asif, Malik, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Gul have all been made to sit on the bench by their teams while Younis Khan joined the Rajasthan Royals late and is yet to play,” he added. (ANI)
