New Delhi, March 4 : After Australia's record 12-0 victory over South Africa in the Hockey World Cup Thursday, their coach Ric Charlesworth said records don't matter to him.
"I was not aware of the record. But records don't matter to me. However, we played well and I am happy with the result," said Charlesworth here at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
Charlesworth said he was well aware of South Africa's style of play, but he wasn't expecting such a scoreline. Australia broke Pakistan's record 12-3 against New Zealand in the 1982 World Cup in Bombay, now called Mumbai.
"It is always good to win with such a scoreline. The boys are getting better with each match and if we play like this, we will reach the point where we want to," he said.(IANS)
