Stuttgart's Khedira out for four weeks with ligament injury

Stuttgart - VfB Stuttgart will be without Sami Khedira for between three to four weeks after the 21-year-old sustained ligament damage in his left ankle playing for Germany's Under-21 side against France on Friday, club spokesman Oliver Schraft confirmed Saturday.

The injury means the midfielder misses Germany's return leg in Metz next Wednesday with the European Championship tie finely poised at 1-1. (dpa)

Stuttgart - Venus Williams overpowered Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday to advance into the Porsche Grand Prix semi-finals, with her sights set firmly on a sports car waiting for the champion.

However, in order to stay in the hunt for the red Porsche 911 convertible she must beat new world number one Jelena Jankovic on Saturday in the semis.
