London, Mar. 22 : Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has told new England skipper John Terry that he has no problem with him leading the side and, looks forward to Terry leading the national squad to victory against Wales.
In a show of class which England boss Fabio Capello would not understand, axed skipper Ferdinand contacted Terry on phone and wished the Chelsea star good luck as captain for Saturday''s big Euro 2012 qualifying clash against the Welsh in Cardiff, The Sun reports.
Ferdinand, however, could not get his head round Capello''s refusal to discuss his decision with him and two other captaincy candidates - Liverpool''s Steven Gerrard and Chelsea''s Frank Lampard.
Ferdinand has never been to a Euro final and is still keen to play in them next year whatever his issues with the Italian manager are.
A source close to Ferdinand said: "Rio felt it was only right he gave John a call and talked things over. He wished John all the best for Saturday and told him he believed he would lead the team to a win." (ANI)
