Ronaldo tells media he is planning comeback and dreams of 2010

Brazilian striker RonaldoRome - Brazilian striker Ronaldo told an Italian newspaper that he is planning his comeback from a knee injury and dreaming of participating in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The 32-year-old, who is the all-time World Cup top scorer with 15 goals, was quoted in Friday's edition of Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport daily as saying that he will be back.

"It would be nice to be playing in the World Cup in 2010," he said.

Ronaldo, who has not played since suffering a serious knee injury playing for AC Milan against Livorno in February, is keen to start practising again in the next few weeks.

Ronaldo said he was hoping to train with Brazilian club Flamengo. He expressed his confidence to reach international standards again and said he would then like to move back to a European club.

"Paris St Germain and Manchester United would tempt me," he said. (dpa)
