Moscow - The string of successful Russian football results continued on Friday with a convincing 6-0 victory by the national team against Kazakhstan in a friendly international.
The Russian team played the game as a part of a training camp held in the Russian capital for next month's Euro competition in Switzerland and Austria.
The result came less than 10 days after Russian club Zenit St Petersburg won the UEFA Cup by beating Glasgow Rangers 2-0 in the final in Manchester.
Russia's Dutch coach Guus Hiddink gave three Zenit players a place in the starting line-up and it was one of them, striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, who opened the scoring with a penalty midway through the first half.
Spartak Moscow's Vladimir Bystrov added a second shortly before the break.
The home side added four goals in the second half through Konstantin Zyryanov, Dmitry Torbinsky, Diniar Bilyaletdinov and Dmitry Sychev.
Russia, who will play Serbia and Lithuania in other Euro warm-up matches, have been drawn into Group D of the June 7 - 29 tournament and will face Spain, Greece and Sweden. (dpa)
