London, Feb 9 : Seven-times World Champion Michael Schumacher has said he can still challenge rivals for the Formula One title this season.
The 43-year old former champion insists he still has it in him to beat current champion Sebastian Vettel. "I am still around to fight for the championship. Absolutely.
Whether we can do it or not is something that will be proven this year," The Sun quoted Schumacher, as saying.
Schumacher will be the oldest man racing on the grid, but is confident of winning the title.
He posted the fastest time yesterday, although in his car of last season, which had a barred blown diffuser.
Schumacher refused to comment about his future as he enters the last season of his contract with Mercedes.
"I never gave any prognosis about my career. The right time will come to discuss my future," he added. (ANI)
