Munich - Franck Ribery's comeback for Bayern Munich has been put on hold after the France midfielder complained of a muscle problem on the eve of Saturday's Bundesliga match with Werder Bremen.
Ribery, 25, was expected to return after ankle surgery following Euro 2008, but has experienced stiffness in a thigh muscle.
Coach Juergen Klinsmann said: "It's not a problem but a small risk remains. We want to take our time and are now planning with him for Wednesday."
Bayern are playing Bavarian rivals Nuremberg Wednesday in the second round of the German Cup.
A question mark for Saturday's encounter with Bremen in the Allianz Arena also remains over striker Miroslav Klose.
The former Bremen player will undergo a fitness test before the game after taking a knock on his thigh in Wednesday's 1-0 Champions League victory over Steaue Bucharest. (dpa)
