Shane Warne has no time for a Test comeback, says his agent

Sydney, June 2: Australia's cricket selectors are to convene to discuss their spin options in the wake of the impending retirement of leg-spinner Stuart MacGill, but it seems his predecessor Shane Warne is just too busy to think of a Test cricket comeback.

According to The Age, Warne will be playing poker, spending time with his children, watching his AFL team, working with business contacts and riding his BMX.

MacGill's departure prompted more speculation about Warne announcing a Test comeback after reaching a high of leading the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

But his manager, James Erskine, has ruled out a comeback and said his 38-year-old client was happily retired.

"Warnie's position is he's not going back, he's not playing Test cricket again," Erskine said.

"He went out on a fairytale and him coming back would be advantageous to no one. He's got no plans to play Test cricket."

He is expected to return to Melbourne from India on Tuesday night, and after an appearance on Thursday for a sponsor in a BMX challenge with several other sports stars, will spend the next month with his children Brooke, Summer and Jackson.

He then departs for Las Vegas where is contracted to play a handful of celebrity poker tournaments.

On his return home, he will juggle more family time with home renovations, pursuing business interests, making appearances for sponsors and watching AFL team St Kilda.

By the time spring rolls around, Warne will have to turn his attention to weighing through several offers from television companies keen to have him as a commentator.

If he is to return to the Test team in time for next year's Ashes series, he would need some decent time playing at first-class level, but he has stated he will not be playing for either Victoria or Hampshire again.

He is contracted to the IPL for two more years, and Erskine said Warne was likely to play again in the Twenty20 competition. (ANI)
