Madrid - Spain manager Vicente del Bosque said Tuesday night that injured left-winger Diego Capel will be replaced by Albert Riera of Liverpool for next week's World Cup qualifiers away to Estonia and Belgium.
Sevilla winger Capel will be out of action for around two weeks, after tearing the abductor muscle in his right calf.
Riera, who recently switched from Espanyol to Liverpool, narrowly missed out on being a member of the victorious Spain squad at Euro 2008.
The good news for Spain is that midfielder Santi Cazorla is fit again, after a worrying training ground collision on Monday with goalkeeper Jose Reina.
The Euro 2008 champions are top of qualifying group 5 with six points, having beaten Bosnia and Armenia in their first two games. (dpa)
