Stuttgart - Germany and VfB Stuttgart forward Mario Gomez on
Friday dismissed speculation that he has signed a pre-contract with
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
"I have read about a pre-contract with Munich but that is
definitely wrong," Gomez told the website of Der Spiegel news magazine.
Stuttgart rejected a Munich offer for the 23-year-old Gomez in 2007 after Stuttgart won the league title.
They are reportedly still after the forward, but Gomez said he
would understand another veto even though he described Munich's
interest last year as "a nice opportunity."
"If Stuttgart come up with another veto next summer I will accept
that as well. It is very important for me that everything fits
together. That that is the case in Stuttgart, the fans like me there,"
Gomez said. (dpa)
