Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones to be back in under two months

London - Sunderland revealed Wednesday that they expect striker Kenwyne Jones to be back in action in six to eight weeks.
The forward suffered damage to knee ligaments in a collision with England goalkeeper David James while playing for Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly on June 1.
He had exploratory surgery on Tuesday, which revealed the injury is not as bad as feared.
Jones was Sunderland's most effective striker last season, scoring seven goals, but manager Roy Keane has indicated he is looking to bring in a forward to supplement him. (dpa)
