Melbourne, Jan 14: Australia fast bowler Shaun Tait will be English county team Surrey’s overseas player for this season’s Friends Provident Twenty20 competition.
Tait will join Surrey shortly before their first Twenty20 match against Gloucestershire on June 2.
The 27-year-old has described the assignment as “a pretty exciting move”.
“I’ve a bit of unfinished business in county cricket and I’ll be giving it my all for Surrey this year,” the Age quoted Tait, as saying in a Surrey statement.
“I always strive to take wickets and love being part of a close-knit team. Some good reports about how Surrey are shaping up for 2011 have been filtering through so I’m confident that the team can go a few steps further this year in the event,” he added.
Tait had briefly appeared for Glamorgan in last year’s edition, and was part of the Durham team back in 2004. (ANI)
