London, Sep 17: Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said that Carlos Tevez remains a key part of the team despite the striker not being a regular in the starting XI so far this season.
Tevez found himself on the bench for the midweek Champions League match against Napoli, with Mancini preferring Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero in attack.
Mancini says that Tevez will get chances to start more games in the future, but he feels Dzeko and Aguero are in better form at the minute than the former captain.
"In this moment there are players that are playing better than him and Carlos is here training. When Carlos is good, probably he'll have a chance to play," Sky Sports quoted Mancini, as saying.
"I don't know if he's happy, but every player when they can't play is not happy. It's normal. But we have other players that deserve a position," he added. (ANI)
