London, Dec 13 : Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez is reportedly set to quit the club after it refused to grant him a transfer.
Tevez is adamant that he wants out of Eastlands, and says that no amount of money will make him stay.
According to The Sun, the Argentinian striker first said that he wanted to quit back in August, but was persuaded to stay and was offered a whopping 1.5million pound bonus to make sure he did.
However, the 26-year-old had turned it down claiming that it was not about the money, but his personal life.
On Sunday, he issued a statement saying that his “relationships with certain executives and individuals at the club had broken down and were now beyond repair”.
It comes after Manchester City rejected a transfer request from Tevez, and expressed disappointment at the “actions of his representative” over the matter.
“It is with disappointment that we confirm to our supporters that Carlos Tevez has submitted a written transfer request. The club can also confirm that the request has been rejected,” a statement from the club said.
“The club remains disappointed by this situation and particularly with the actions of Carlos’ representative.”
“Roberto Mancini and all at the club have shown, and will continue to show, sensitivity to Carlos’ personal circumstances including the issue of his family being based overseas,” it added. (ANI)
