Warsaw - Three people were detained in southwestern Poland on Wednesday as part of an investigation into corruption in Polish football, local media reported.
A coach and two football officials were detained on a total of 30 charges in Wroclaw and are suspected of paying out bribes in the amount of some 100,000 zlotys (39,652 dollars.)
Prosecutors declined to identify the suspects, the Polish Press Agency said.
The investigation into Polish football was launched in May 2005, and so far has charged nearly 100 people that include referees, officials and members of the football federation.
The arrests came amid a recent motion from the sports ministry to suspend Polish football federation (PZPN) officials in an effort to clamp down on corruption.
Poland had faced the prospect of sanctions - including being stripped of co-hosting the Euro 2012 football championship - after football's governing body FIFA demanded reinstatement of the leadership.
FIFA on Monday said that Poland's two upcoming World Cup qualifiers will go ahead after they reached an agreement with Polish sports officials.
FIFA had earlier given Polish officials a deadline of noon Monday to reinstate the football federation officials, but withdrew their ultimatum after they received a letter from Poland's sports ministry and football federation, which they were satisfied showed "a positive evolution in the situation of the PZPN."
