Vienna - An open-air concert involving opera stars Anna Netrebko, Rolando Villazon and Placido Domingo will take place Friday in Vienna as planned, two days before the Euro 2008 final.
A severe storm Wednesday caused the evacuation of the Vienna fan zone as well as a power-cut at the Euro 2008 International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), which led to the temporary loss of the TV signal for the semi-final between Germany and Turkey.
However, organizers said the weather forecast for Friday's event is much better and, either way, the stage would be protected in the event of rain.
The expected audience of 10,000 will be provided with plastic rain ponchos as umbrellas are not allowed.
The three opera stars also performed in Berlin in 2006, two days before the World Cup final. (dpa)
